STEP and Affiliated Organisations Host Successful Fundraising Breakfast in Belhar On 3 May 2025, STEP and its affiliated organisations hosted a vibrant and successful breakfast fundraising event in Belhar. The event brought together community members, supporters, and partners for a morning of connection, purpose, and celebration. Entertainment was provided by the dynamic Hier Kom Ons Ontwikkeling Band, whose performance added energy and inspiration to the gathering. STEP extends heartfelt thanks to all attendees, supporters, and contributors who made the morning a meaningful success.

The conference is the annual event that provides S.T.E.P with the opportunity to provide more in-depth training and exposure for the members. It also provides the members with a platform for networking, learning, and discussion. The fact that the conference is held at an hotel is a huge confidence booster for the leaders of the member organisations given their social circumstances. The conference also provides the opportunity to celebrate achievements and to motivate continued growth and development.

Mandela Day - 18 July 2024

Old Age Home, 30 Lotus Way, Matroosfontein

Old Mutual Corporate partnered with STEP to paint the communal lounge of the Old Age Home and handed out food parcels to the residence of the old age home.

Christmas in July - 06 July 2024

Christmas in July High Tea with STEP and its affiliated non-profit organisations on 6 July 2024 at the Minor Hall in Belhar.

S.T.E.P. High Tea (Journey to Success) - 05 May 2024

The STEP High Tea, with its affiliated organisations took place on 05 May 2024 at the Huguenot Hall, Business Park, Belhar.
The theme was "the journey to success'
The speakers were Theolla Langehoven and Rabekka.

Meeting with Prof. Brian Figaji - 15 March 2024

The STEP Board met with Prof Brian Figaji on 15 March 2024 at the Lagoon Beach Hotel. A breakfast meeting that encouraged the board with suggestions to promote STEP in what we do as an organization, in order to make STEP more visible and marketable.

Meeting with Elizabeth den Braber - 03 March 2024

S.T.E.P. met up with Elizabeth van Braber on 03 March 2024 on her visit to Cape Town. The discussion was to collaborate with various individuals that Elizabeth mentioned and to action the business plan of S.T.E.P.

Conference - 25 - 26 November 2023

The annual conference for STEP took place on 25 to 26 November 2023 at the Protea Hotel Techno Park. The speakers for the conference were radio and TV personality Aden Thomas of Heart FM, Diana Ferrus, SA Story teller and writer, Mark Johnston of Cheshire Home for the disable. STEP is grateful that they took the time from their busy schedule to speak to the attendees about their story and journey from where they started to where they are now. Encouraging stories like theirs inspire us to continue what we do in the commnities, no matter how challenging it can be. STEP appreciates you.

Variety Show - 01 October 2023

The variey show took place on 1 October 2023. This is a platform where the organisations can raise funds for their organisations under the umbrella of STEP. STEP arranges the venue and the catering for the attendees of the event. it is great to see the talent in the communites.

S.T.E.P High Tea (Families in Crisis) - 03 September 2023

Majorie Saaiman and Ikhraam Botha (Ikie) were our guest speakers at the STEP high tea on 3 September 2023. Majorie spoke about her journey with her son and Ikie spoke about his journey of how he started until where he is now. Every person has a story and we must always be aware of how we speak to people because we will never know what their journey is about. STEP thanked them for their openness and honesty when addressing the guests at the event and wish them well on their journey going forward.

Thank you Gerrard & Candice for the shoes.

At the High Tea of the 07 May 2023, Mr Gerrard & Candice Henriques were speakers at the event. He saw the conditions of the shoes of the children of the band and donated them brand new school shoes from Woolworths. The organisation that received the donation is "Hier Kom Ons Ontwikkeling".

High Tea - 07 May 2023

The theme of the high tea was about unemployment and drug and substance abuse within our communities and was held at the Minor Hall in Belhar. Speakers were Mr & Mrs Henriques and spoke about the individual journeys to success from a difficult childhood.

Caledon Bus Trip - 29 April 2023

On the 29 April 2023 a Bus trip to Caledon was organised to be a fund raiser to assist in raising funds for the end of year conference and to provide the NGO's with knowledge of how to plan and organise a fund raising event.

Conference -  26 - 27 November 2022

The Conference was held at the Cape Sun, from the 26 - 27 November 2022. The theme was back to basics to assist in guiding the NGO's to assess their business to comply with Social Development criteria.
Speakers was Ms Anthea Jacobs & Ms Diane Ferrus.

Anthea Jacobs did a presentation on the importance of NGOs and how successfull they can become, while serving their communities.

Diane Ferrus did a workshop on how to start writing. the members attending were not very confident when they started but through her guidance, the words started flowing. Everyone had a chance to read a few lines of what they wrote and the confidence just grew.

Variety Show - 06 November 2022

A Variety Show was held at the Minor Hall in Belhar to raise funds for the end of year conference.
There were various acts and speakers that entertained the crowd.

High Tea - 04 September 2022

A Hight Tea was held at the De Waveren Primary School in Ruyterwacht to raise funds for the end of year conference.
There were various acts and speakers that entertain the crowd, including a Mr Ikhraam Boeta who spoke candidly of his life journey.

High Tea 29 May 2022

A High Tea was held at the Minor Hall in Belhar. The theme was sponsored by Old Mutual.
Old Mutal provided advice regarding, 'Saving for Tomorrow'.
There were various acts and speakers that entertained the crowd.
